This week, Pivot Global Partners announces that Toddi Gutner will be joining as a consultant. An award-winning financial journalist known for helping executives develop capabilities to transform the way they approach product design and content marketing, Toddi brings years of experience as an innovation consultant to the firm.

Design Thinking is a chief component of Toddi’s working philosophy in the marketing and journalism sectors. She is known as a champion for Design Thinking and understands the customer experience through empathy and ethnographic techniques. With extensive experience in corporate consulting as well as the classroom, she has taken the practice of Design Thinking from IDEO and Stanford (where she studied) to Fortune 100 companies, start-ups and non-profits, executives at Cornell’s Executive Business Education Program and graduate students at Cornell Tech. Using design thinking, Toddi captures unique insights to address business challenges that leads to new ideas and strategies to fulfill organizational goals.

As a consultant at Pivot Global Partners, Toddi will join CEO & Founder Cynthia Hardy Young, former Global Head of Agency at AIG, as well as a team of seasoned executives from across sectors, in leading organizational transformation. Pivot Global Partners is a full-service firm that serves as a catalyst for sustained growth, improved returns, and mission success for mid-size and larger companies, NGOs, non-profits, and government entities across various industries. Toddi’s areas of focus at Pivot include product design and design thinking, customer experience, and content marketing, focusing primarily on Fortune 100, start-up, and non-profit clients.

In addition to consulting, Toddi writes for the Wall Street Journal after spending 16 years as a writer and editor Forbes and Businessweek. Her storytelling skills and ability to create dynamic messaging has helped companies enhance visibility and differentiate themselves from competitors. She provides content for thought leadership, marketing collateral, websites, and social media for global financial and professional services companies. Toddi collaborated on The M Word: The Money Talk Every Family Needs to Have About Wealth and Their Financial Future (McGraw-Hill, 2013), now in its second printing, and worked with Bliss Integrated Communication as a Senior Strategist.

Toddi launched her career as an economic analyst at National Economic Research Associates, an economic consulting firm in Washington, DC. She completed Design Thinking training at Stanford University’s Hasso Plattner Institute of Design. She earned a Master of Science in Journalism from Northwestern University and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Michigan.
